Who We Are

Edgewater Recruiting Group, LLC was brought from concept to creation through 6+ years of executive recruiting and long term partnerships. We established relationships with multinational, $90B+ corporations and small single location companies alike.

Quality of search and hire does not change with organizational size. After talent gaps continued to develop for our clients, we found it necessary to develop a tactical talent management plans to solve each gap individually with hands on – data driven solutions.

Mike Hamaker


Growing up in a small manufacturing town, Mike was surrounded by hard working individuals striving for the American dream. This work ethic was instilled at a very young age by his family. He was always told “if you want something bad enough, work hard and just go get it.” Hard work, honesty and perseverance are core values and major contributing factors to his quick and sustainable success in the retail & recruiting industries.

Mike began his career in the retail industry 15 years ago in a hometown SuperValu Co-Op supermarket. At a young age he learned the principles important to run an effective supermarket. Mike was taught how critical it is to cater to the customer he serves. These lessons learned at an early age have served him well into his career in recruiting. In 2006, Mike joined Best Buy while attending Indiana University while obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree. Noteworthy achievements include: winning a corporate internship, being selected the Best Buy All Store MVP and earning multiple promotions leading to his last role as Mobile Manager where he led his underperforming store to #1 ranking.

Our Search Plans


The engaged search works best when a critical hire with a very specific skillset, time sensitive nature or confidential search process is needed. The engaged search is a true partnership where the risk is shared and both parties are vested in the success of fulfilling the current hiring need. Virtually 100% of our engaged search assignments are filled. Edgewater Recruiting Group places engaged and retained searches as highest priority and completing our fiscal commitment to the hiring process. Candidate exclusivity is given to our clients until first right of refusal is made and our guarantee period is extended to 6 months under the engaged search plan.


The retained search signifies the clients essential need to hire and partnership in identifying, attracting, and hiring from the industry and/or your direct competitor. Traditionally the retained search is viewed as an executive level search option only, but it can be best utilized when dealing with high volume of repetitious hiring or large expansion plans. The plans effectiveness is highest when the client hiring needs and expectations are aligned between all parties involved with process regarding time to hire, confidentiality and skillset matches. Candidate exclusivity is given to our clients until first right of refusal is made and our guarantee period is extended to 6 months under the retained search plan. Additional technologies and processes may be utilized at the clients request.


The contingency search is most commonly used for general need to hire where fulfilling the position is still critical, but not time sensitive. We deploy our extensive search process even on contingency searches. Even though the risk is no longer shared, Edgewater Recruiting Group may accept the full risk of a contingency search if the client agrees to our expectations for process, feedback and effective communication between all parties involved. We prefer search exclusivity on contingency searches but understand where this isn’t an option. Our Contingency Searches offer a 120 day guarantee.
